RACE DAY IS JUNE 6, 2026

Event Information

  • Mixed division (minimum of 8 women paddlers in the boat).
  • BCS division 
  • Junior division (paddlers must be under 18 years old as of the event date).
  • Team roster can include up to 30 participants. (Medals are awarded to 25 participants per team)
  • All teams will be provided with a Dragon Boat Canada-certified steersperson.  Authentic dragon boats  with traditional dragon heads and tails, paddles, and life jackets. Teams providing  steerspersom(s) must be certified  or demeamed race ready by Dragon Boat Canada. (documentation will be required)
  • Medals awarded across all divisions. (Gold, Silver, and Bronze)
  • Sprint racing distances. Approximately  200M
  • Practice sessions available! Practice weekend is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 52 Margaret Avenue, Wallaceburg, ON | N8A 1Z9.
  • Dragon Boat Tug-of-War! (limited registration) 2 Divisions, Womans and Open

Race Format

Round one is determined by a random draw. No divison racing. Race scheduled posted the week for Race day.

Round two: Rankings are based on race times from the first round. No divison racing.
Round three (medal round):  Rankings are calculated by combining the total times from round one and round two.
 Final round medals are awarded through head-to-head racing. Team race in there registed divison.

Every effort will be made to follow the established race schedule. However, in the event of delays caused by high waves, wind, inclement weather, or any other circumstance beyond the control of the Sydenham Challenge, adjustments may be necessary.

If such delays make adherence to the original schedule impossible, the Race Director, in consultation with the Race Management Team, will revise the schedule accordingly.

Each winning team will receive up to 25 medals.
